Cooking Classes

We think this is the best way to understand how to handle truffles, the quantities you need to cook with, and just to get to see and talk truffle recipes.

Bookings are now open at Le Tres Bon in Bungendore and 3seeds at Fyshwick Markets.

You can book  a hunt at French Black Truffles truffiere Mt. Majura, and then do a 3seeds truffle cooking class which  start after the hunt returns at 11.30 am and conclude with a lunch.

You can do the same in Bungendore — booking a hunt at Taralla Truffles, or Tarago Truffles (both located close to Bungendore) followed by a cooking class and lunch package.

 3 Seeds cooking school

3seeds is a hands on cooking school at the Fyshwick Markets which over the last year has become so popular they have expanded further. They are now offering even more classes both day and night Tuesday-Saturday.  In order to achieve this, they closed the cafe, but have relocated this to a new site 4th Seed at 227 Crawford St Queanbeyan. www.4thseed.com.au.  Cooking classes are still held at the Fyshwick Markets.

The cooking school operates from a purpose built kitchen proudly sponsored by Electrolux. Master cooking classes are to be held on Saturdays starting at 2:30pm and going till 5:30pm, on the dates of 29 June, 6 July, 13 July, 20 July and 27 July. Cost of Master class is $150 per person. Friends are able to join in for the meal at the end which the students have prepared and cooked. Complimentary wine  is included. We will also be offering free demonstrations in the markets throughout July as well as selling truffle products, such as truffle butter & preprepared vac packed meals using truffles.

In addition to the recommended truffle hunt followed by the 3seeds cooking class, this year we have also collaborated with the boutique Diplomat Hotel and can offer discount bed and breakfast package for those travelling.

Kids cooking classes (learning to cook a simple pasta dish with truffle) are being held during the NSW and ACT school holidays in July. They are from 10am – 12 noon on Friday 5th July, Thursday 11 July, Friday 12 July, Thursday 18 July and Friday 19 July. Cost is $35 per child.

Truffle class bookings are to be made directly with 3seeds. Bookings for the hunt/class/accommodation pacakge are done through the Diplomat Hotel (link).
